Luncheon Honoring Shira Milgrom's Legacy: A Traveler’s Guide to a Jewish Practice

Sunday, June 4, 2023 15 Sivan 5783

11:00 AM - 2:00 PMMain Sanctuary

Join us for a celebration and luncheon

On this special day, we will sing, dance, remember, and reflect on all that Shira has done for us as individuals and a community. We will gather in the sanctuary with music and personal reflections and conclude in the social hall for a luncheon and remarks about Shira’s rabbinate.

The program features Elana Arian, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and recording artist. She has performed at some of the most celebrated concert halls in the country, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Tanglewood, and perhaps most memorably, five different performances at the (Obama) White House. According to our own Cantor Danny Mendelson, “Elana Arian is one of the leading voices in contemporary Jewish music. She is not to be missed.”

The program will include personal reflections and insights from our congregants - Myrna Barzelatto, Susan Davis, Kathy Pike, Cindylisa Muniz,  Rachael Arenstein, Jen Josephs as well as Jean, Georgia, and Lauren Pollak.

After the program, our celebration will continue in the Social Hall with lunch followed by Ellen Umansky speaking about Shira's rabbinate, toasts and tributes from our guests, and Shira’s own remarks.
