Study With Us

Dance, study, sing, think, ask. Judaism is for the total person. Judaism is to know yourself better: where you come from and where you might yet like to go. Here at Kol Ami, you can join this incomparable search with other wonderful people - in a community of learners – intellectually open, spiritually honest and joyful. As a community, our Temple seeks to help members grow spiritually to deepen their understanding of the Jewish Heritage, and to strengthen their connection to Jewish community.

Florence Melton Mini School

Taught by a multi-denominational faculty of Jewish clergy and lay scholars. Courses taught at Kol Ami, the Jewish Community Center of Harrison, the Community Synagogue of Rye, and the Sinai Free Synagogue in Mount Vernon.

For adult learners who seek an interactive and dynamic study of their Jewish heritage. Annual tuition the first year is $750. Payment plan and/or partial scholarships available.

Me'ah Adult Classes

Me'ah, an intensive adult Jewish learning experience conducted by Boston's Hebrew College, approaches Jewish history and Jewish thought through an intelligent and sophisticated conversation with core texts. Classes are starting this fall at Temple Israel Center of White Plains, Mid-Westchester JCC in Scarsdale and Bet Torah in Mt. Kisco.

For more information, please contact Civia Mclean, Me'ah area coordinator, at (914) 907-2679 or cmclean@hebrewcollege.edu.

Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Learning for its own sake, as well as the opportunity to become an adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah, is encouraged. This two-year program, beginning October 2008, includes a study of Jewish beliefs and practice, a conceptual introduction to holidays, life cycle rituals, great friendships, and the art of asking good questions. Classes meet 7pm - 8pm every other Thursday night. For more information contact Rabbi Tom Weiner.
